InKind Collective

Welcome to the InKind Collective!

The InKind Collective is a collective of artists throughout the United States connected through rigorous joy, collaboration, and curiosity. We put the “play” back in play—removing ego, opening hearts, and making theater cool, accessible, and vital to our community. We believe art and culture belong to everyone, and great theater should, too.

The Backstory

The InKind Collective sprouted from my personal overthinking about how many brilliant, thoughtful artists I know and how we’re all spread out across the country, craving community, creativity, and meaningful ways to grow. I’ve often wished for a space that could bring us all together: a place where artists can play, explore, grow their careers, and build new connections across distance and disciplines. The idea was simple: the seed of a future theater company, but to start, it’s simply a space to gather. A place for artists to share ideas, practice their craft, and support each other.

We've started with a salon reading series where anyone can pitch a play they'd like to direct, read, or explore. We’ll also create space for artists to offer workshops, giving folks the chance to teach, learn, and build their CVs and skill sets. While we’ll begin virtually, the vision is to eventually gather in person, with readings, workshops, and community meetups in cities like NYC, Chicago, Texas, and hopefully more in the future.

From this collective, the goal is to grow into The InKind Theater Company: a company dedicated to producing bold, thoughtful work rooted in collaboration, generosity, and rigorous joy.

What's with the name?

The word “InKind” refers to a non-monetary donation offering goods, services, or time instead of cash. At the heart of this collective is the belief that art is itself an invaluable donation to the world. We give in kind to our communities through storytelling, creativity, and connection, offering something that can’t be measured in dollars, but is deeply meaningful.

 Let’s make things, together.
